Have you ever really stopped to consider just how much of your life is controlled by the power of your subconscious mind?  Some may choose to discard that suggestion but the fact is the subconscious plays a powerful role in your daily life, and for the most part its activity is beyond your conscious awareness.

Generally speaking, there are two levels of consciousness that most of us are aware of…the conscious and the subconscious.  Our conscious mind represents our willful thoughts, focus or action in a specified direction.  We are much more in control of our conscious mind.  We can make a conscious decision to go to the store, to exercise, to watch television, to read or study or any number of other activities that fill our daily lives.

The subconscious mind however operates outside of our awareness and focus.  The subconscious is composed of memories, values and experiences that are collected over all the years of our life.  Most of our reactions or automated responses are derived from the information stored within our subconscious mind.  Critical decisions are often made based on related past experiences in your subconscious mind.

The awesome power of the subconscious mind lies in it’s ability to absorb information that we are not consciously aware of.  There is so much information coming at us each day that it would be impossible for our conscious mind to receive it all.  But our subconscious mind is aware of our surroundings.  An example of this would be when you are in a crowded room or office with many conversations and distractions all around.  Suddenly someone outside of your focused thought mentions your name and your attention is immediately tuned in to their conversation.  Though you were not consciously aware of their conversation, your subconscious mind was aware and picked up on it.

Since the subconscious processes and stores so many of our memories, it has the power to control many of our decisions and actions.  An individual may choose to bypass a viable opportunity based on a negative experience from their past that could be decades old.

The subconscious can also be a source of negativism in your life.  Because past events are stored away along with their corresponding feelings and emotions, a current situation can trigger negative emotions in the present, such as depression, lack of confidence and unworthiness.  Many people recognize what they are feeling but are unaware of the source or that those negative emotions can be overwritten with more positive values through subconscious training techniques.

One way to accomplish this is by learning how to change your thinking.  It is possible to get in touch with and harness the power of your subconscious mind.  The first thing you must do is to get a clear vision of what you want in your life.  What areas of your life are you unhappy with?  What are the specific values, traits or circumstances that you would like to change?  Once you have established a clear vision of where you want to go, then you must believe in your mind that you are worthy to have what you desire and that your aspirations are attainable.  Finally you must receive it as if you already possess it.  You may have heard the expression before, “Fake it until you make it.”  There is probably some truth to that, but the key element is that you need to be in a state of thankfulness for what is coming your way, even before you have actually received it into your life.  The fact is, if you always go around dejected, talking about how broke, how sick, how shy or how unhappy you are…you will always stay broke, sick, shy and unhappy.

You have heard about the law of attraction. Visualization plays a major role in the law of attraction.  Whatever you think about, those things that you focus on, whether good or bad, project energy out into the universe.  That energy attracts like energy to itself and thus into your life.  What do find yourself thinking about most of the time?  Whatever it is, most likely you can see it manifested in your life.

Much work has been done in the area of using subliminal messages for subconscious training.  This is one of the quickest and easiest ways to reprogram your subconscious mind with positive, empowering beliefs as it bypasses the conscious level and transfers it’s message directly into the subconscious.  This transfer process enables a person to see effective changes in a short period of time.  Some techniques used in subconscious training can yield positive results in less than an hour.

Along these same lines is a scientific technique known as brain entrainment or brainwave entrainment.  Though the name itself may be a bit intimidating, the science behind it is not that complicated.  Brain entrainment is the process of using sound and sometimes visual imagery to induce your brain into a relaxed state where positive changes can more easily take place.  Music has long been known to put people into a state of relaxation, if it is the right kind of music.  In brainwave entrainment, binaural beats are embedded in the sound and these are picked up by your brain.  Your brain then gets in synch with these beats resulting in a relaxed state of consciousness where subliminal suggestion can access your subconscious mind and effect positive changes that you want to see.

What is holding you back from having the success that you desire and deserve in life?  Once you discover the power of the subconscious mind and what you can do to harness it’s power and make it work for  instead of against you,  there will be little that you cannot change in yourself or achieve in your life.
